About the Clinics

Knowing that animal care is close to people's hearts but not in the budget, Just Animals is bringing affordable basic care to the surrounding communities. The clinics offer several basic vaccines including rabies vaccines, heartworm tests and preventative for dogs, flea and tick preventative, FIV/FELV tests for cats, microchipping, deworming, and basic exams.

Every clinic helps 80-100 animals and their wonderful caretakers. In this economy, we need to help all the dogs and cats we can! We are so happy to be part of the solution to the high costs pet parents encounter.

Thank you so much for your support and donations!

Dog-Wellness

For Dogs

If you have a dog, please make sure to bring it in on a leash or in a carrier (if it is small enough). Please no flexi-leashes or other retractable leashes! We need you to keep track of your animals at all times. Even if your dog is healthy and great with others, some of the other dogs at the clinic may not be. Safety and health are our top priorities!

If you have a dog that can be aggressive with people or other animals, even just on occasion, please let us know. If you can bring a well-fitting muzzle of your own, that's great. If not, we have muzzles on hand that we can use. No one wants to get bit!
Cat-Wellness

For Cats

If you are bringing in a cat, please make sure to bring it in a carrier. Please do not just walk in holding your cat. There are always many dogs at the clinics. It can be loud and scary for our feline friends, and we don't want them getting loose and/or lost. If you do not have a carrier of your own, we have carriers for sale for $5. Let us know!

Frequently Asked Questions

A 1-year rabies vaccine costs $15 and covers your pet for 1 year. A 3-year rabies vaccine costs $30 and covers your pet for 3-years.

We do carry several counties rabies tags now and all are differently priced. Be sure to ask when you call for your appointment if yours is available and what the price is. We have no control over pricing for rabies tags. If we do not have your tags, it is your responsibility to get them from your county animal control office within 10 working days.

You can see the clinics that we have scheduled by visiting our calendar on the Events page. If you don't see your area listed, keep checking back. A good rule of thumb is that we try to be back to each area every three months.

This depends on your dog's age, what it has had before and when, and a few other factors. Only rabies vaccines are required by law, but there are many other vaccines that are highly recommended.

If your dog has never had shots before, it will need a distemper shot, at the least. The distemper vaccine will have to be boostered 4 weeks later. If the dog is older than 14 weeks, it will also need the 1-year rabies vaccine. Your dog must have a 1-year rabies vaccine the first time; after that it may have a 1-year or 3-year.

Generally, it is recommended that your dog have a rabies vaccine, distemper vaccine, and heartworm test once a year. Heartworm preventative and flea and tick preventative are also recommended.

If you board your dog, your dog will also need a bordetella vaccine, and if your dog spends a lot of time outside or goes hunting with you, it will need lepto and lyme vaccines.  Check with the place you plan to board your dog as many require additional vaccines.
